Paris was a wondrous city. She loved how some parts remained unchanged over the years - a rare thing in her lifetime - and how many of the newer buildings did their best to compliment them. She loved that she didn’t miss too much. Then again things never really did change. Humans were still humans; digimon were still digimon. War, conflicts, peace, the cycle went about for even before the time she was born. A thought that was so amusing to her. Still, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she was going to miss something.
Still, it was funny how she wanted to skip all that and head straight to the bar.
The tourists were bugging her though. Lost and starry eyed, they reminded her of sheep. Half of them didn’t know why they were there and were simply there because others were. In fact, had she not talked to a few of them, they wouldn’t have even realized it herself. She found the whole thing tiring. Not that she should say anything, she was like that just an hour ago. It didn’t change the fact that they were blocking her way though. Some stopping where they should be and nearly getting themselves in trouble. If it wasn’t for that nagging conscience of hers, she wouldn’t even bat an eye and go about her business. But no. She just had to interfere – like usual, or keep an eye on them, and make sure things didn’t happen.
screeeeeeeech!
Reptiledramon shielded her from the car. She arms covered the little puppy. The man got out of his car, obviously not in a good mood, and saw the damages Alister’s ‘illusion’ had caused. She sighed, shifting the little bundle in her arms so she could easily pull out her wallet. Ignoring the man’s displeasure, she pulled out a few five hundred euro banknotes (more than enough to pay for the damages), slipped it in his shirt and walked off as if nothing had happened. Her ‘partner,’ who shifted back to their rookie stage, followed along after her with a bit of a lagging trot, as if making sure that the man would not follow.
She couldn’t believe that a little puppy was wandering a big city such as this. It wasn’t right. What if something were to happen to them, just like that car only moments ago? The tag was an obvious clue that he belonged to someone. It starred up at her with his big brown eyes and she couldn’t help but coo at how cute it was.
”Alright. I suppose I have all the time in the world to drink in Paris.” She chuckled lightly at how oddly true that was. ”We’ll find your owner first.” The puppy yipped, as if happy with the response. She chuckled once more. ”I suppose anyone would be happy knowing that they were heading back to where they belonged.”
Then it hit her. She just gave that man a while back several thousand banknotes! She groaned in disbelief. She hadn’t spent that much money since she arrived on anything! Not even clothes or shoes. She must have been working on automatic again. She grinned wryly at the puppy as if mentally saying, “you owe me.”
She looked around for a pet store or someplace to get a leash. While the puppy did look alright in her arms for now, what if he wanted to explore? She couldn’t keep a good eye on him in this mess. Not to mention, it would be difficult for her to run in here.
Her illusion stopped and pointed to something. She turned to look at it. Of course. The pet store was some place she’d cry after paying. With her illusion trailing behind her, she walked into the store. She braced herself for the hit to her wallet (not to mention that she was still a bit sore from earlier). The women at the store weren’t too bad. Although they did think that she was male. It didn’t help when she was shamelessly flirting with one of them. Only after her illusion caught sight of the puppy running out the door did she stop, apologize, and follow in hot purist.
She was lucky that she remembered to take the leash with her when she ran, but she didn’t exactly pay attention to where she was going. In fact, she actually knocked someone down, not that she had noticed. She blinked and opened her eyes and didn’t quite see anything. All she knew was that her head was resting on something warm and kinda soft. It was weird, shouldn’t she hit the ground hard? Well, never hard enough to kill her but, still, something hard. The grown wasn’t made of pillows or anything. After all, she - Waitaminute. Soft. Kinda comfortable. I must have bumped into someone! And my head must b– Yggdrasil! It took a bit before it kicked in that she shouldn’t be like that and that she nearly molested the girl. In fact, her hand was just about to do grope the teen. She quickly moved away and apologized. A faint blush coloring her cheeks. ”Yggdrasil’s beard! I – I should have watched where I was going. I’m tremendously sorry about that.”
She held out a hand to help the teen up if she needed. Her illusion stared at her from a distance as if calculating something that Alister wasn’t seeing. She felt it. This girl was not like the others, but she couldn’t place just what. She shrugged off the feeling for now, thinking it was just because of the circumstances of how they met.
”I was just trying to catch up with a puppy.” She explained before quickly growing concerned. Speaking of that puppy. . . She looked around, trying to see if she could find that puppy again. The blonde can only hope that it didn’t run too far away from her. She frowned when she didn’t see him, but she did feel a slight tug at her leg. There he was, nipping at her pant leg. She knelt down and picked him up. ”You little rascal.” She said with a wry grin.

What better way was there than to spend a nice afternoon having lunch in a nice bistro? Good food and good company was always a great combination, especially if the good food were sweets and the good company was the cute soccer player who you sat behind in world history class and melted every time he turned away and flashed a wolfish grin your way. Some way, some how, Odette managed to get through an entire afternoon with the guy after they agreed to have a study lunch over the test material that was covered the day before. It was halfway successful. She got to spend 2 hours staring at his gorgeousness, but in those two ours, she did not retain any information that was said because her attention had been directed on him. She 'd loose her head if it wasn't attached. That's what she always heard from her elders. She found it laughably true and always just shrugged the comment off.
After leaving the bistro, Odette and her partner, Piyomon, took their usual stroll around the city to kill some time. The same old sites, same old people. You'd expect this to burst into a musical scene like the opening of Beauty and the Beast, but life did not always imitate animated classics. Not to mention that the teen would have been freaked out if everyone around her decided to burst out into song. She stopped by a light post, leaning against it, a soft sigh escaping her lips as she did so. This drew Piyomon's attention and a look of concern across the bird's face. "Is there something troubling you, Odette?" she asked. Odette answered with a shrug and looked back at Piyomon with a small smile. "Just fine. Bored, but completely A-Okay! But you know, I could totally go for some ice cream."
"You just came from drooling over a boy and stuffing your face with pastries, why do you need more sugar? Piyomon responded folding her wings over her chest. No one knew Odette better than Piyomon. Preppy day dreaming girl plus excessive amounts of sugar was just...scary in the bird opinions. Sedative darts would be needed and she had none. Because of this, she came to a conclusion. Closing her eyes and clearing her through, the bird resumed in her speech. "No, sugar. And besides, I'm sure your mother would be very angry if you filled up on it and wouldn't have room to eat your dinner. You know how much she enjoys dinner time! And besides, it's bad for you. You keep porking out on sweets and you'll blow up to the size of a Blimpmon!" Piyomon said. Her eyes opened again and noticed that Odette had wandered off. Her eyes narroed in annoyance. Why? Why did she get stuck with such an ADD ridden human? And she was supposed to be a chosen child? Should any dark threats decide to rise, they were all doomed. Especially if the bad guy taunted Odette with a bag of chocolates and a shirtless jock. By the time Piyomon looked around, she'd noticed Odette on the ground and another blonde person a top her. She flew over to the scene with great concern and instinctively believed that her partner was to blame by not paying attention to where she was going as usual.
”Yggdrasil’s beard! I – I should have watched where I was going. I’m tremendously sorry about that.”
Odette accepted the person's hand as she was helped back to her feet. No harm was done and at least this girl had manners and enough respect to apologize. Odette gave a closed eyed grin and tossed up two fingers in a peace sign. No biggie. Accidents happen! Just glad no one is really hurt." she replied. Her eyes opened again hearing the other blonde speak of a puppy and moments later, the aforementioned animal made it's appearance. Another thing Odette had a weakness fore besides junk food and cute boys? Cute fuzzy animals. "Oh my god, he is so cute! I could snuggle him!" she said before being cut off by the arrival of Piyomon.
"I'm so sorry! Odette, you should be more observant. It's rude to just bump into others on the street!"
Odette closed her eyes, a vein popping from her forehead as she curled her fists, she trembled. "....I DIDN'T BUMP INTO HER, SHE BUMPED INTO ME, GET OFF MY BACK ALREADY, SHEESH! she barked back at the bird with an angry glare. Piyomon's eyes widened and shrank backwards. Even she knew when it was time to just stay silent and avoid an eye full of fist from the french teen. Almost immediately, Odette's mood shifted from aggravated back to cheerful, especially when she saw the puppy again.
"Sorry...partners can be annoying sometime..." she laughed nervously.
"The feeling is mutual..." Piyomon muttered, earning another glare from Odette.

For such an “ancient” dragon, she’s quite unaware of her surroundings. It wasn’t as if she’s too oblivious … maybe. There’s just plenty of things on her mind, not to mention she wasn’t exactly born a “god.” Just … a demi … Maybe she was over thinking things. She was a Jötunn and her father’s child. Whatever else is whatever else. "C'est la vie" as the French would say, right? Whatever the case, she would be keeping her attention on to this young woman … and the puppy that was licking at her arms.
She chuckled easily at her comment towards the mischievous pup. ”Would you like to pet him?” She offered, walking a bit closer to the girl, enough so that she could pet him. If the girl wanted to hold him, she wouldn’t mind. Either way, she hoped he wouldn’t touch land just yet. He might flee again. ”He doesn’t bite. … at least not that I know of. I was just going to return him to his owner. Wherever they may be.” She said with a smile.
Then the girl’s partner came. She nearly dropped the poor pup. The girl’s partner certainly was a loud one, Alister noted wryly. ”It’s fi-“ And she was quickly cut off.
She just watched them … somewhat amused for some reason and looked down at her illusion, who she made look back at her. There were times she wondered what life would be like if her illusion was more than just an illusion. It would make time less lonely, she would think, when the others were away.
Alister blinked and the mood quickly turned significantly lighter again. How interesting. She could tell there was a bit of tension between them still, which was only confirmed after their little side comments to each other. ”It’s fine. Really, you two.” The Amarillo Dragon said easily. ”And I suppose they would be, but it would be weirder if you two got along so well that you can finish each other’s sentences, right?” She smiled wryly. Of course, she wouldn’t understand how partners would be annoying. She had never experienced it before. Although, she did understand how siblings can be annoying. If that was a suitable comparison for it.
”Ah! As I was saying, I was going to find this pup’s owners. But … I don’t believe I remember the way.” She grinned, although she could swear a stray bead of sweat trickled down her forehead. "Would either of you know the way?"

"Well, you've got a point there." Odette replied. Her and Piyomon finishing each others sentences would be annoying and fairly creepy. It was just a good thing she and Piyomon had their fair share of disagreements so that such a thing would never develop. After the other girl asked for directions to the home of the puppy's owner, the chosen child of Love and her bird companion glanced at each other and shrugged.
"I can't say that I do. I would kind of need to know who it belonged to in the first place." she chuckled nervously.
"Does it say an address on the collar?" Piyomon asked. And even so, I don't know if we could be of much help. Paris is huge. But we'd give it our best shot." the bird nodded.
"That is the truth. I have nothing to do at the moment. We'll do whatever we can to help....um...what is your name anyway if you don't mind me asking." Odette asked. Usually introductions were the first thing to occur when Odette met a knew person, but after being side tracked by Piyomon and the puppy's cuteness, she'd completely flaked in asking for a name and giving hers. "I'm Odette and this is Piyomon. Chosen child of love right here. I know, isn't it awesome? You can touch my arm if you want to. Go on, don't be shy."
"She's so modest..." Piyomon sighed heavily, covering her face with a wing.

The Amarillo Dragon smacked her forehead with a free hand. "Why didn't I think of that? Old age must really be making me senile." She joked, before searching for the pup's dog tag. "But, yeah. Paris is huge. Geez." She grinned entirely amused for some weird reason. It was a light mood now. Plus, she liked this girl for some reason. Not that way, but like there was something about her that was interesting. Not only that thing she picked up earlier. ... or maybe that was it. Her mind was nagging at her for not remembering just what though.
She read the address aloud. It was somewhere quite far from there. Saint-Denis was what the tag read. A district quite far from the main area of where they were. Most likely, they were going to have to ride the subway.
"It's fine." She said with a wave of her hand. Her eyes widened slightly as she introduced herself. So that was why she felt something strange about the two. They were her father's chosen. How interesting. She chuckled lightly at their introduction. How modest indeed.
"Call me Alister. It's a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Odette." She said lightly before dropping to a more mysterious tone that could only be heard by the two. "It's rare to see a child blessed by my father." She said with an odd twinkle in her eyes. It was clear as day to see that the Amarillo Dragon was in a good mood. She knew that the two wouldn't be able to tell anyone. Besides, a chosen of her father wouldn't do something that stupid right? Who would believe that children of the Yggdrasil were down on Midgard watching them? No one in their right mind that is.
She moved away from them and looked at the direction she supposed that the puppy lived. "Shall we ~ ?"

"Old age?" Odette tilted her head slightly to the side staring at the other girl with a ponderous look. She didn't seem to be old at all. She looked around Odette's age, give or take a few years, but there were no signs of old age other wise. Though the more she stared the more she started to figure out just who, or rather, what Alister was. Then she was able to pick up Alister's tone, the gleam in her eyes. It was all starting to come together. Odette and Piyomon looked at each other before turning back to Alister. The chosen of love had to hold back a squeal of excitement. She never thought she would ever meet up with one of the Jötunn. The children of Yggdrasil himself.
"Oh my god..." Odette was finally able to muster up some words. Now she felt like she had to shift from her preppy demeanor and be as formal as possible. She was standing in the presence of greatness. "Oh my god, she just said my name..."
"Yes she did." Piyomon continued staring at Alister in awe. Though a few more seconds pasted before she snapped back into reality and nudged Odette with her wing. "Come along. We have to help get that puppy home." "Right." Odette nodded following behind Alister with Piyomon stepping in tow. She had so many questions running through her mind at the moment. Odette knew what she was, who she was, but never truly knew her purpose as the chosen of love. What it was she was meant to do. She figured maybe a daughter of Yggdrasil could help her answer that question. But not so soon. She had to break the ice.
"So what's it like being...well, one of them?" she asked in a hushed tone. "And what are you doing on Midgard? Just curious..."

She chuckled lightly at the blonde’s response. It was not as if she expected any less, but it was nice to see her kind was so revered still, despite some nasty little rumors she had been hearing about a particular group trying to rise up against Yggdrasil. Not to mention, having faced them once before. She couldn’t imagine them building so quickly, but she hadn’t exactly seen them in such a long time. It was not her business. She … One of her siblings had been in charge of that. Since their passing years ago, she had not heard any information she knew that was true about them. They had cut off all of their allies, and their connection with that group.
Her eyes lost their glee for a split second before turning her attention to the present. She found it amusing how they both regarded her with awe. Even her serious winged partner. ”You might want to lower your tone a bit. The word spreads fast.” She teased, although acutely aware that there maybe someone watching them even now. The agumon x illusion behind her was acting as her eyes looking to make sure that things were staying the way they were and no one was listening onto their conversation.
The Amarillo Dragon regarded the two curiously as they followed behind her. They were the ones who knew Paris a lot more than she, yet …? She paused. Was her way even right? It had been such a long time since she came to Paris. Not to mention, she didn’t fly there … erm, fly as in using her digimon form to fly. It was much too recognizable and could be easily mistaken as her father. She simply had a pair of axes and purple fur in her mask. She tilted her head slightly, putting a finger to her chin. ”This way is right … isn’t it? I haven’t been here for such a long time.”
Alister clicked her tongue. ”Now, now. I can’t tell you everything.” She scolded lightly, still grinning all the while. It had been a while since she’d met any of the Æsir. Not that she avoided them, it was just … because she was constantly traveling she missed a lot of things. The few times she had stayed in a spot was to build up a reputation and earn some money, other than that, she had no reason to stay longer than a few months at any location. While they were mostly myth, there were a few that believed. That’s what made things dangerous. Sure, she was able to take all her siblings and fly, but there was a limit to her strength, as with her siblings. Training was necessary before they were to do anything. That and finding all of them … which was the reason why she had traveled to France. She had heard a rumor and as it turns out it was just a rumor. A tad of bad luck on her part. The good luck was finding this little chosen of love. How funny is it that she was from Paris, France?
