Yu Jie had been stone-faced the entire car ride. Lucemon however had other plans. The digimon had his face pressed up against the glass for so long that Yu Jie could have sworn he flattened out his nose a little in the process. If Lucemon had a tail it probably would have been wagging furiously the entire time, which made Yu Jie grateful the little pest didn't have one. The slight wing twitches whenever Lucemon saw something interesting was bothersome enough. "Can't you just sit your ass down already? We're almost there you dunce," Yu Jie tugged on his partner's wings, pulling the small creature down into his seat.
"We never go so far away from home..." Lucemon muttered, settling down while grooming his wings. The small creature chose not to tell Yu how much it hurt every time he did that, so he pretended they just needed to be picked through as he rubbed sore spots. It was true though that they didn't often leave home. Since they had finally settled down in his father's old home the concept of traveling even across the country seemed weird and somehow exciting. Maybe the fresh country air would clear up Yu Jie a little. Lucemon had heard many times how country air was supposedly better for you than city air, but Lucemon had never been out to the country-side before so he didn't really know.
Suddenly the car lurched to a stop and Yu Jie stepped out, leaving Lucemon in his thoughts. It took the digimon a few delayed seconds to realize that he was being left behind so he quickly shuffled out of the car and chased after his partner once he gave the driver that DEATHS assigned them a warm smile as thanks. "Why does he live so far away from the city? It seems like it would be annoying. You can get all the stuff you might want or need out here." The digimon looked up to Yu Jie for an answer, still perplexed.
His partner answered with a glare, not slowing his pace as he muttered, "I don't really care. It doesn't matter anyway. We're here for something specific so stop getting so curious about stupid shit." Though his words were harsh Yu Jie didn't look particularly angry or flustered. In truth he was probably just tired. The drive had been long and Yu Jie hated traveling since his father died. It simply wasn't worth it and always made him more iritable. Luckily he didn't have the health problems he had as a boy.
"Is this it?" Lucemon asked as Yu Jie came to a stop. The young man looked about for a moment and crossed his arms. It remained silent for a few minutes before Lucemon got antsy. The digimon flapped his wings a few times and skipped in a circle, trying not to let his boredom get in the way of what they were doing. Yu Jie hadn't replied to him so he just assumed they were supposed to wait for Deryn to come to them. "What is he like?" Lucemon asked, stopping to look up to Yu Jie again. "Does he know that he's like us?"
Yu Jie cast his glance down to the angel with a frown, "He doesn't know. He was informed that 'The University' was sending someone out to see him. That we were interested in him as a student prospect. Some bullshit like that." The young man shook his head and went back to looking around aimlessly. Yu Jie hated waiting.
"You cuss a lot," Lucemon mumbled quietly, going back to his skipping and wing flapping.

Waking up with the usual fluster, he peered around the dark room. It was strange that Cronos had not waken him from his slumber, as he looked at the person that resided next to him on the bed, had he really had someone over last night? Grumbling slightly he rose from the bed, sitting off the side of it. Deryn reached over the sleeping lump of a boy and shook him a bit, "Hey, wake up and go home."
It took a few long moments before the younger male did anything, as he quickly fetched his clothes and walked into another room. Before a large beast entered as the male exited, Cronos. He looked at Deryn with a slight disapproval. Deryn grumbled again, "I know... Don't give me that look." As Cronos sighed slightly moving to the window before he pulled the shades open. Suddenly a bright light lurched into the room, sending Deryn into partial blindness for a moment. Rubbing his eyes slightly he began to get up from the bed. He may as well get ready for the people that are being sent from some school or some shit.
Cronos quickly inquired, "Why would you have company, knowing that you would be visted by some professorial today?" "You should know. Remember? I was drunk, I can't help if some boy tried to get with me." As Deryn finished, the male in the other room made a sound as if offended, Deryn would almost laugh if the male expected to be anything more than a quick fix. As it sounded like the male exited the home, hopefully his parents still were not aware that he had company over. Deryn had only found temporary housing here because of the education, his parents of course wanted to take full advantage of that, although Deryn wanted nothing to do with it.
Quickly fixing himself up, he put on a pair of jeans and a plain white shirt. Hopefully they didn't expect him to be too formal. Cronos began to clean up the room, throwing the dirty clothes into a pile in a corner of the room. Deryn progressed to the bathroom, doing what business he had. Cronos had been staring at the clock on the wall the entire time, waiting for his partner to hurry up so they could progress to meet with them. Deryn finished soon enough, exiting the bathroom he looked at Cronos, "Ready?"
The pair continued out of the house, stepping outside of the house he looked at his surroundings. It was a typical country home, a small falling apart home in the middle of a large field, not many trees, with quite a few hills. The surrounding land was covered with fences and life stock. He had no neighbors for two miles, which was a little relaxing as he looked at the little sports car speed out of the very long driveway. That must have been his little guest, Deryn rolled his eyes. Cronos began to snicker, as Deryn quickly cut him off "Lets go." They wandered to the old truck parked in front of the house that was dying for a paint job, which he neglected to give for quite a while now.
Jumping into the truck, he opened the passenger door as Cronos quickly crawled inside, shutting the door with his beak. Cronos sat in the seat like a large dog, which brought a smile to Deryn's lips. He always thought Cronos as the best friend/pet thing he could have, cleans up his room and is intimidating, always helpful. Deryn began to drive to through the country side, as they had arrived at where he said he would meet the people. It was a local restaurant, the only place that seemed fitting in the town, the only other buildings that they could meet was a very small library or a church. This seemed most appropriate, as he had made it to the location, seeing a black car made it's way not too much earlier than himself. Parking on the side of the sidewalk, he opened the door jumping out as Cronos followed.
Looking at the pair that he was to meet he looked at the two, the guy didn't seem too interesting. Stickly with a strange tattoo on his face, from twenty feet away as he began to approach it looked like a black smear. Cronos followed behind closely, like a curious dog he stared at the two. Deryn looked at his partner, looked like a little kid... Curious. As he called out, "You are the two we are expecting to meet with?" sounding of course less rhetorical than he intended.

Lucemon continued to flap around bored for a while. The digimon often had a bombardment of things to look at because he was from the city, but being in the country meant there were fewer things around. In fact the only real thing about was the restaurant that they had said they'd be meeting at. Well there were a few other things but they were too far away to catch Lucemon's attention. "It's so boring," Lucemon muttered as he looked around a little more. The digimon made a mental note never to live outside of a city. Though it was kind of a foolish thing to do considering where he lived was entirely up to Yu Jie. Thinking as much reminded the digimon to cast his eyes up to the man.
Yu Jie looked as sour as ever. That wasn't really surprising. The man stood quietly for a time until he heard noises coming from afar. A truck. Yu Jie observed with a narrowed gaze, trying to fully take in the truck as it came closer into his view. Positively it contained the young man that Yu Jie was after because the young man couldn't imagine many people wandered much in this area. It was further confirmed when the truck stopped not too far off and the man and his digimon got out. The pair drew nearer and the man shouted out a question that simply wasn't a question. "We are they," Yu Jie replied as loudly as was required, though he did not shout. "And you are late. I am a very impatient person."
His words were as blunt as ever Lucemon noticed with a slight frown. The digimon wished that for once he would have a positive encounter with a new person, but Yu Jie made that damn near impossible. It might have been for the best considering how the last relationship Yu Jie got attached to, the very first, ended in one of the worst ways possible. Lucemon chose not to dwell on it much, but rather make the good impression that Yu Jie could not. "I'm Lucemon! And this is Yu Jie! He's kind of..." The digimon trailed off when he caught the sharp scowl of his partner.
"Disregard what he has to say. This is a business meeting as far as I am concerned," Yu Jie threw a gesture towards Lucemon as he spoke. Business yet not quite. Yu Jie just classified all things that related to DEATHS as business now because it was what he did for a living. He lived in his fathers house and pretended he was a real student while he did things for the cruel bastards who genetically engineered him to be a chosen. A fucked up little life he led, but it was his and he would continue to work on it.
But there was still the matter of Deryn to attend to. According to DEATHS he was the chosen child of desire, though he did not know it. Did his parents? Well they must have. It was by their hand that he must have become a genetic experiment as a fetus. That sharp observative gaze continued to take in the newcomer who he was to speak with. Soon he would change the man with information. Some would take it better than others. How might this man?
