History
Deryn's past is not so interesting as they would write a book after him. Of course he was born, and of course he was given an injection when he was in the fetal cycle. This is already the standard for the Chosen Children.
Deryn was born out of the sake for being experimented on, which wasn't that much of a hassle as long as you didn't let it get to you. He often would cover up feelings of remorse and sadness by coating it with charisma and socialization. He would always be the one that had the most friends around the block, the one always surrounded by a 'posse'. This started from his very childhood. And you ask why I haven't mentioned his Digimon partner yet? It is simply because Cronos, as you will come to know him by, was at the beginning seen as more of a plush to Deryn.
At a young age he was more likely to drag the poor digimon partner around than to actually show respect to it. Although this was seen as strange, Cronos had grown to expect this of him. Though surrounded by Deryn's friends, Cronos quickly became a social butterfly. His habits grew to Deryn's, by the time the both were around ten years old, Deryn had accepted his Digimon partner fully.
Deryn hated school, for a lot of reasons, but most was the belittling. He couldn't stand it when teachers spoke to their students like they were stupid. It wasn't their fault that they haven't learned it yet, but he had no patience for most school activities. He would often be seen as the "Joker" of the class, cracking the most jokes and getting the most praise from other students while the teachers found him more of a distraction. At his side Cronos would often be apologizing for his partner's actions, as if Deryn needed that.
As they both grew older, they decided that school wasn't needed half as much as it did. Deryn pretty soon found out the typical sexual urges that every teenager gets, though he was seen as a slight oddball for liking the same gender. Often people would mock him when he was younger for this, but he quickly grew to find out if you kick their ass, they won't mess with you. Deryn was becoming a social manipulator, and if things didn't go his way... There would be consequences. With that being said, this did not mean that he enjoyed being in positions of power, he just enjoyed the feeling that people were under himself. If people tried to find a leader in him, he would quickly shut them out of his social life.
It was only after he decided to drop out of school that he was shipped to London from his parent's strict upkeep. He gladly wanted to leave the sheltered country side of England for somewhere a bit more interesting.
What Deryn can't seem to understand is why everyone is talking about that organization "DEATHS" they don't seem to bother anyone. He has no idea what they are even about, he would rather be watching porn.
