History
Long ago, before the creation of the three worlds, there was Yggdrasil. He created Midgard. He created them, humans and digimon, and watched. He noted how they interacted. How they were prone to fighting, to wars. Soon enough, he began to favor a few pairs in particular, those that stood up and wanted piece. He gave them power. The Æsir.
To his pleasure, most of those who he had given his power to proved him right, that it was the right thing to do. They used this power to the best of their ability for their cause. Sure, it was hard, and many were lost, but, in the end, peace was found through the Æsir. Unfortunately, there were those who abused their power that Yggdrasil had given them, those who use it to oppress other Ættir (human and digimon pairs). Yggdrasil shook with anger, seeing them, but knew it was too late to change anything. Then, there were those who did nothing with their power. He did not hate them and he understood. Power was difficult to manage. He had spent over hundreds of years looking them over already. He knew.
Yggdrasil was never the type to “throw away” his past creations, those who have died. Instead, he created a new world for them. Niflheim. The land of the dead. Unfortunately, there was something that went wrong. He found that digimon were not able to go there through normal means. Humans and digimon were fused together, their souls, but not their powers. Their powers were bound within them.
Eventually, with the creation of Niflheim and Asgard, Yggdrasil had forgotten about Midgard. By the time he turned back to watch it, it had become so badly war torn that he had to call forth the ice age in order to "freeze" all of them. It was unfortunate, but he had thought that the Æsir would be enough to keep peace. He was wrong. He had to think of a way to keep track of the three worlds.
That was where the Jötunn came from. The first of the five that were created was Ouryuumon who was almost literally created in his image. There was one thing he change though, her gender, finding that females tended to be more nurturing and complying than males, which she would greatly detest later.
Anyways, soon enough, she realized that her siblings had the lifespans of normal humans. Of course, the first time she saw it, she panicked. Calling for Yggdrasil to the point that he closed their bond temporarily (not that she knew it at the time). During this time, she secluded herself from others, abandoning her duty of watching the Ættir and looking to find away to bring her siblings back. Eventually, Yggdrasil gave her clues on how to find her. Subtly guiding her with little clues that most wouldn't notice. It wasn't until after she had found all her siblings again that he explained to her how they were to be reborn and that she was to take care of them.
Of course she was not happy about it, but she complied, merely because she knew just what Yggdrasil was capable of and she was more worried about her siblings at the time.
Over the years it became more of an "easter egg" sort of deal hunting them down, although easter wasn't around at the beginning of that time. She treated it almost like a game. Finding her siblings in a different and new way was exciting. Teaching them what they need to know about themselves was not.
As for Ouryuumon, herself, has gone through plenty of journeys, alises, as well as homes. She owns several estates around the world, accumulated over her times traveling in search for her siblings. She had always been an eccentric one, finding places that she loves and buying a home there whether she needed to or not. But, that doesn't mean her life was all up hill, there was some places she'd lost too. In fact, the great depression has wiped out a great chunk of her stock too. Boy, was she pissed about that.
During the creation of the Vanir, Alister (her current human guise) was on her usual journey to hunt down all of the Jötunn. Imagine her surprise when she had learned that they had failed. Killing a Ættir was not in her job description. Not to mention, she was much to far away at the time to notice.
The last of their group that she caught was the white tiger himself. The silly toddler was horrendously difficult as apposed to the vermilion bird, who usually was the difficult sibling.

» Eidetic memory • Unless she somehow gained amnesia, she never forgets anything she’s seen or experienced. Ever. It’s not really much of a special ability considering some humans have it as well.
» Telecomunications • As the leader of the Jötunn, she is able to communicate with Yggdrasil in any form, including her human one, whether they talk back to her or not is a different matter.
» ”Teleportation” • What really carried over from her digimon form was her ability to fly and just how quick she was flying. In fact, it often appears that she is “teleporting” when she uses this ability.

Quick Scan
Alister is the leader of the Jötunn. She's the reluctantly responsible one of the group. In fact, she doesn't like interfering in anything unless she has too or one of her siblings is danger. While Yggdrasil might speak to her every now and then, she doesn't have control over it and she finds it disheartening. Life has gotten quite boring over the long years she lived and kind of - in a twisted way - does find this challenge refreshing.
