History
Yu Jie was not a product of love. Lien Xianlao, a bright young mind working for the DEATHS branch in China, was put on a new project when she was just Nineteen that concerned artificial Æsir. The young woman was interested and entirely devoted to the DEATHS cause, so after one entirely inappropriate request she agreed to birth a child for testing purposes. The fetus related injections took a hard toll on Lien, though she didn't let anyone know it in any way. About eight months into her pregnancy the digitama for her child appeared as planned, yet something of the egg was alarming.
The digitama that would later hatch into Puttomon had a clash of white and black constantly roiling on the surface in unsettling patterns. Lien noted in her studies that the egg 'looked as if it was in a constant battle with two dominant forces of which neither seem to be winning'. As her due date drew nearer, Lien stated that the struggles with the egg became more pronounced and fervent. The day that Lien gave birth to her scientific study Yu Jie the egg also hatched and a confused monster sprang forth. Puttomon was just as ill-looking as his partner and while Yu Jie needed to spend his first few weeks of life in a hospital, Puttomon was trapped in bed at home.
Lien cared for her child as all mothers were supposed to, feeding and cleaning, but she didn't offer any emotional support at all. Yu Jie, suffering adverse affects, spent weeks in bed from mystery illnesses until the age of five. All the times that Yu Jie spent in his room resting was also a great bonding time with his partner Puttomon. The partnership was rocky though, as Yu Jie didn't understand friendship or love due to his mother's cruel indifference. After his fifth birthday things finally began to change, Yu Jie's health taking a pleasant turn for the better.
The first in many changes of Yu Jie's life was his first vacation to london under supervision of his father, whom his mother explained lived there for work. Enlai Hsiao, Yu's father, was originally stationed in China with his mother so they could study their child together, but he was moved to London when he showed too much concern for the moral issues involved. In London Enlai wouldn't be as much of a threat to the study, for he could be watched closer, and there would be an excuse to send Yu there frequently.
Going between his mother's and his father's places more often then a child should, Yu Jie's health began to waver again as it did for his first few years. Whenever Yu Jie grew ill from exhaustion or the more dark reasons, his digimon, who was now cupimon, always stayed by his side so they could talk about all sorts of things. With the presence of his father though, Yu Jie began to get his first tastes of love and care, even if it was masked or toned down. It was exhilarating to feel important to someone and Yu began to care for his father in ways he didn't understand. Learning emotions from his father even taught Yu how to be a better friend to cupimon.
A handful of years passed and Yu began to act like a normal child, though when he was with his mother he was a studious and factual person. Trips to London didn't make Yu as sick as they used to and by age fifteen he was almost completely adjusted to being two separate people depending on which home he was living at. Life had begun to make sense to the young boy. And the DEATHS happened. The secret organization behind his birth made itself known in his life, banning Enlai from having any further communications with his son for his 'meddling ways'. According to DEATHS, Enlai was tampering with experiments and mussing up results so Yu was kept from his father and his visits to London stopped for three long years.
In his three years back with his mother, Yu's emotional side died and he was reborn as the logical and unfeeling beast his mother Lien made him to be. Yu began to act coldly to his surroundings, feeling like if you weren't doing something that yielded important results then it was a waste of time. Cupimon became Lucemon and began to suffer from deep emotional traumas that never seemed to hit his partner. On particularly hard days, Lucemon would worry that he was splitting into two digimon, the loving one that he was when Yu's father was in his partner's life and the unfeeling one that Yu needed him to be around Lien. Lucemon suffered more than Yu ever expressed he did or could. On rare occasions Yu would seem to split into the person he was with his father and he and Lucemon would enjoy brief moments of peaceful happiness, but they never lasted very long.
On his eighteenth birthday Yu was put on a plane back to London, though it wasn't like his previous visits. Yu was informed that his father had suffered an unexpected mortal heart-attack and the funeral would be held there instead of his home country of China. Yu attended the funeral and wore his best suit, though he couldn't bring himself to cry at Enlai's grave (Lucemon did, however). After the somber event, Yu was approached by intimidating looking men who had claimed to have worked with 'Mr. Hsiao' and wished to speak with his heir. That was when Yu Jie was informed of his nature and DEATHS true intentions. Lucemon had his reserves about working for such a shady organization, but Yu Jie accepted working with them without hinting at any particular emotion over it.
Cold, calculating, and loath to show any form of emotion, Yu Jie had turned out just the way his mother had wished. The young man wouldn't visit her after his trip to London for his father's funeral however, for he chose to become an important part of DEATHS and take up residence in his father's old home. For the next year, Yu Jie began to learn more of DEATHS, the Vanir, and what it meant for him to be the child of Darkness. Yu Jie awaited orders from DEATHS telling him where the Æsir might be or when the other Vanir that he would lead would join his ranks.

Lucemon has a bright personality that seems caged by circumstance. His curiosity is unending, leading him to be foolish occasionally, and his intellect continues to expand with each of his curious quests. Due to Yu Jie's issues, Lucemon often finds himself alone and that gave birth to a large fear in Lucemon's life. The young digimon is always afraid that the emptiness he feels when he is alone will consume his troubled mind.
Yu Jie often brings out darker characteristics in Lucemon that the digimon feels have always been there. These darker feelings usually relate to being a pessimist, cruel towards everything, or hateful. Lucemon, in his right mind, can't stand the word hate or the emotion it carries with it, so the creature tries desperately not to hate anything or anyone. Rage is one emotion that Lucemon never feels unless someone is trying to harm Yu Jie. Even when someone is harming Lucemon he doesn't feel rage so much as the sinking sensation that he might just deserve it.

Yu Jie is constantly at war with the world. The young man clashes with his partner more than he should, but he feels it is needed to show Lucemon that he is not the person he was as a child. Demons seem to dwell in Yu Jie in ways he never cares to express.
Notes
For the purpose of fairness, Lucemon is considerably weaker in this role play. This is to be expected~
Also, there is a little conspiracy theory on if that heart attack Enlai suffered was real or forced...~
